AA POS Version 7 is now available. If you use AA Point of Sale make sure to request your update. It has added features that you may be interested in implementing this spring.

ActiveApplications Version 7 Release Schedule
Our testing and test sites are reporting good
reliability of Release 7 programs. There will not be a better time than now to
get your system updated. At this time the update is available upon request.
Simply email support@udsgis.com <mailto:support@udsgis.com>
with your request. You can request a CD to be mailed or it can be emailed if
your mail box is large enough.
Most companies should request it now for implementation immediately.
From now on, any errors reported to support that are in version 6 will be
corrected in Version 7 only. We soon will be supporting version 7 only.
Version 7 will be sent to all companies the week of April 12. Plan to get it
installed and functional April 30.
Scheduling is Released!
At last the Scheduling Application becomes
part of the ActiveApplications Product Group. Companies that purchase
scheduling at a special initial release price of $150.00 will receive
enhancements automatically as functions are added to the application in the
coming months. This is less than half the normal price. As all good things do
this price is only available until 4/12/04.
If you are a landscape company you should get scheduling now. You will be using
it to control and schedule jobs and crews. This nominal charge only applies to
companies that are not on the Premium support program or have not purchased the
All Applications version of AA. If you request it, you will receive it
automatically with your version 7 release.
Take a Look at Version 7 and Scheduling
Version 7 will be available for you to use on
our server this week Tuesday or Wednesday. Log into our server then use the
user name of “aapremier” and password of “access01”. This will limit you to the
version 7 database and programs. You can use these until they expire to test
and see what the new version looks like. See if your requested functions are
available. See how the new features are implemented. Provide us last minute
comments. It is not too late to get your suggestions written into the release.
POS Version 7
AA POS Version 7 has several new features.
The biggest is the addition of tables and logic for a customer loyalty program.
Also included is a Serial number table for POS. Items that have the Serial
Number Required field answered yes will be prompted for a serial number in the
POS system. The serial number will be recorded with the sales analysis record
when the sale is posted to ActiveApplications. This is a great opportunity to
capture the name and phone numbers of your larger ticket customers.
In addition to the loyalty program capability these features will be enhanced
in the next few weeks:
1. Intermediate uploading of data to the server for more closer tracking of AR balances and gift card accounting.

Your free web site is still available
Make sure you take advantage of the offer.
Getting your listing on IDOPLANTS or IDOLANDSCAPE it will lead to efficiencies
later this year as new programs are released to use those sites. Get more
notice to your existing site because of the link to and from your IDO
page.
New from the Support Desk
Look for the release on new versions of help files to the ActiveApplications web site. As changes are made they will be posted to the Downloads section of the web site. The F1 Help system is there for your use. Keep it updated for maximum benefit to your company.
Support is also actively adding to the training plays. Click on the Active Plays button on the ‘Home’ page if interested in downloading some Plays from the Active Play Library. Plays are being revised and many additions are being posted as they are completed. You should be building your play library so training of replacement personnel is easy and automated. Listen and watch you might learn something, too. Take advantage of the hours of training available to ActiveApplications users for free.
