Advanced Record Selection Tools for Inquisitor Report Writer

Our "Alternate Key" structure provides all the information that is needed to identify the characteristics of the particular Inventory records we would want to retrieve, but how to search my inventory and select by a multi-character code? How can Inquisitor be used to select by groups of characters within the Alternate Key and only display the inventory records I'm looking for? 

? = The question mark character can be used as place holder.  So in the above example the 3rd thru 5th characters can be anything.  The first two characters will be 04 and 6th and 7th will be BA.

* = The Asterisk symbol is a wildcard character.  So everything after the 7th character is valid.  Only one asterisk need be added on the end.
